| Most recently Todd was the sole Solutions Engineer on high-end digital media systems at SGI (Silicon Graphics). During this time he built the prototype multistream Super-HD resolution video server for IMAX corporation (with great results); configured a system which composited three streams of uncompressed HD video in real-time; configured an SGI Reality Center (large format projection system) for uncompressed HD playback; and consulted for industry leaders such as DreamWorks, Pixar, the Paul Allen group, etc. This role included significant interaction with customers and partners, acting as a conduit between the needs of the current marketplace and the direction of the engineering team. | |
| An internationally recognized video artist, Todd leverages the passion and real-world experience gained into solid creative innovations in the video effects field. While at Abekas Video Systems working on the industry standard broadcast digital video effects system, DVEous, he pioneered an award winning new control system, OrbitalFX, which augments or replaces the traditional key-frame based approach to orchestrating special effects. | |
| Prior to entering the digital video arena Todd worked for ten years as a research programmer in Artificial Intelligence, culminating at the NASA Ames Research Center and contributing to an intelligent scheduling system which earned the NASA Group Achievment Award for saving millions of dollars in the space shuttle ground processing domain. | ![]() |
